SINGAPORE: The physical Fire Stations’ Open House held by the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF) on Saturday (Apr 30) saw a turnout of about 6,000 people.
The Open House is the first after a two-year hiatus due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
An SCDF spokesperson told CNA that the “unprecedented turnout” of 6,000 people is about 300 per cent more than the average turnout.
“Queues had already started to build up before the 9am start of the programme,” SCDF stated in a Facebook post.
” We are overwhelmed by all the support and patience we have received. “
” We thank you all for your patience and enthusiasm, and we look forward to welcoming them at our open house on Saturdays,” stated the spokesperson of the SCDF.
The SCDF stated that it values the feedback of its members and will consider their ideas for future open houses.
It was also mentioned that the fire stations can be visited every Saturday between 9 and 9. 50am and 10am to 10. 50am – at selected stations.
” We look forward to meeting friends and family, as well as the kids to the fire stations over the coming weeks! It said.
