Halo Infinite developer 343 Industries has revealed that its “targeting August 2022” to launch campaign co-op.

343 Industries, the team behind Halo Infinite, confirmed that it needed “more time” to work on Infinite’s eagerly-anticipated co-op modes last month, but, at the time, was unable to provide an estimated release window.

While no prior Halo game has ever shipped without the ability to play couch and network co-op, the team decided to delay the release of co-op mission and Forge in Halo Infinite. Online and couch coop have been delayed since then. Forge and replaying campaign missions has also been delayed (unsurprisingly this has now become an August target).

Now, however, 343i has confirmed that the team hopes to release the mode in August, even though the news has been revealed by an image of the game’s roadmap on a Halo Waypoint post rather than explicitly in writing.

“We know we need to deliver more content and more features more quickly,” Joseph Staten admitted in the latest Halo Waypoint update where the image was shared. To keep priority zero, sometimes it is necessary to slow down to be able to move more quickly later. We are also looking for ways to speed up.

“As we continue to improve and ramp-up, please understand that all of us at 343 are fully committed to making Halo Infinite the best Halo experience ever,” Staten added. Staten stated that the main reason we are extending Season 2 was to allow us to address any ‘quality-of-life’ issues based on Season 1, as well as feedback from users. “

Should you play Halo Infinite in 2022? I certainly think so. It’s true that I miss co-op missions, but I wrote up saying “I have always believed there is something special about Halo multiplayer.”

“Whereas its contemporaries are obsessed with reinvention, endlessly complicating matters with unlockables and perks and competitive advantages that sometimes seem to unfairly penalize those without the luxury of time, Halo has chiefly stuck to its guns: literally.

“It doesn’t matter if you’ve played once, or 101 times. You don’t have to be ranked (apart from bragging rights) because Halo truly is an equal playing field. You, your strategies, and some good luck will determine who lives and dies. It’s not possible to escape a difficult situation with a game-breaking God roll – but it is all the more enjoyable for it. “

Did you pick up a pair of officially-licensed Spartan boots? The Spartan-green boots certainly look the part, with their 117 and UNSC-branded logos. However, only 117 pairs of boots were available, which means you didn’t just need to have a spare $225 to pick these bad boys up – you also needed a good dollop of luck, too…
